Natural Convection Research
Natural Convection research in the School of Engineering is focused on two main areas; unsteady natural convection in cavities and convection in the near shore region of lakes and reservoirs.
Staff:
- John Patterson
- Chengwang Lei
- Wenxian Lin

Co workers and collaborators
- Steve Armfield, University of Sydney
- Masud Behnia, University of Sydney
- Duncan Farrow, Murdoch University
- Peter Daniels, City University, London
- Jae Min Hyun, Korean Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, Yaejon, South Korea
The experimental work is all carried out in the Natural Convection Laboratory at JCU.
Computational work is carried out using the University's High Performance Computing Facility or our own cluster of 16 high end PC's
