First Aid
There are two compulsory requirements for engineering students to complete before they can graduate:
- Vacation Employment (Vac Prac) consisting of 12 weeks working on an engineering project that is within your engineering discipline.
- First Aid Certificate. Graduating engineering students must hold a current Senior First Aid Certificate.
Please note that the certificates are current for three years but the Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) component of the certificate is only current for one year. The Australian Red Cross training room is located adjacent to the Townsville Hospital, next door to Ronald McDonald House. One day refresher classes for the CPR component of the course is available.
Please also note that Alison must sight the ORIGINAL first aid certificate and record it on your file - photocopies or faxed copies are not accepted.
For graduating students - Alison must receive any outstanding documents by the end of February each year in order to send the information to the examination department who do the graduation processing.
